JESUS & TIBET
Tuesday, March 30th, 7:00-9:30pm
An evening talk by Geshe Michael Roach, Buddhist monk and scholar, joined by Mercedes Bahleda, Will Duncan, Erin Bannink and Daniel Bannink Michael Roach grew up in the Christian church and spent over 20 years in Tibetan monasteries. He will speak about ancient connections between Buddhists and Christians from the time when the apostle Thomas was sent to India by Christ. The talk will focus on Holy Week and the comingEaster, and how the Buddhist idea of karma fits in with the miracle of Jesus’ crucifixion and resurrection. We will also have a taste of some Christian music in the ancient Indian style, and learn a few brief meditations that can deepen our personal connection to Christ.
